mid-afternoon cold splash

6 oils · Floral · Herbal · Minty · Woody · Resinous & sweet · code BL-0531

Six essential oils at eight drops each; it feels like splashing cold water on your face. Peppermint, rosemary and tea tree open with a cool, minty green rush, lavender softens it, and frankincense and cedarwood hold a base of warm resin and dry wood. Good for lazy mornings or the start of the afternoon. This batch is big, so use 5 to 6 drops of the mix each time.

How it unfolds

On opening. Peppermint (cool, sharp and clean); rosemary (cool, green, herbal and invigorating); tea tree (green, medicinal and clean) rise first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.

As it settles. Lavender (floral-herbal, clean and soothing) forms the body of the scent and stays longest in the room.

What remains. Frankincense (resinous with a light lemony note, deep and still); cedarwood (dry and warm, like a wooden chest and pencil shavings) sink in and linger after the diffuser is off.

FAQ

How do I use mid-afternoon cold splash in a diffuser?
Add Lavender 1 · Peppermint 1 · Frankincense 1 · Rosemary 1 · Tea Tree 1 · Cedarwood 1 drops to 200–300 ml of water. In a room under 15 m², use 1–2 drops less; in a room over 25 m², add 1 more drop of the main oil.
What can I use instead of lavender?
Swap lavender for geranium or ylang ylang — same floral family. The blend will shift a little: geranium is green and rosy, fresh and balanced.
When is the best time to use mid-afternoon cold splash?
Use it at the end of the day, on weekends, while reading or right after a shower — whenever you want everything to slow down a beat.
