Frankincense and ylang-ylang share the main role: warm resin meets sweet yellow flowers, quite luxurious and a little mysterious. Bergamot opens the door with a fresh, lightly bitter note, while patchouli at the bottom adds an earthy touch. The blend suits a grown-up bedroom with dim lights and soft jazz. For a small diffuser, use 2, 2, 1 and 1 drops; for a fresher feel, add more bergamot.

On opening. Bergamot (light citrus with a floral edge, Earl Grey style) rises first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.
As it settles. Ylang ylang (rich, creamy, tropical and sweetly floral) forms the body of the scent and stays longest in the room.
What remains. Frankincense (resinous with a light lemony note, deep and still); patchouli (like damp earth and dark wood, deeply sweet) sink in and linger after the diffuser is off.
Bergamot can make skin sensitive to sunlight when applied topically — avoid sun and tanning beds for 12 hours after applying.
Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.
