Botanical source

Myrocarpus fastigiatus is a tree growing wild in Brazil and Argentina, producing a very hard wood. The oil is distilled from waste chippings and sawdust in Brazil.

Family Fabaceae. Confusion sometimes exists between cabreuva and cabore (Myrocarpus frondosus), as both may share commercial sources.

Notes

Nerolidol and farnesol both show anticarcinogenic activity in research.
