Geranium leads with a fresh, green-rose scent, lemon adds a bright tang like just opening a hotel window, then Roman chamomile and sandalwood smooth it all over with a base of floral tea and creamy wood. It suits nights when you've just come home from a trip and haven't even unpacked. The large recipe suits a big-capacity diffuser; for a small one, use 3 drops of geranium and 2 drops of each of the others.

On opening. Lemon (fresh, bright and clean) rises first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.
As it settles. Geranium (green and rosy, fresh and balanced); Roman chamomile (like ripe apple and dry hay, soft and mellow) form the body of the scent and stay longest in the room.
What remains. Sandalwood (creamy, smooth and long-lasting) sinks in and lingers after the diffuser is off.
Lemon can make skin sensitive to sunlight when applied topically — avoid sun and tanning beds for 12 hours after applying.
Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.
