too hot to sleep

3 oils · Floral · Herbal · Minty · code BL-0068

Peppermint bursts out first, as cold as opening the freezer, then clary sage and Roman chamomile bring that feeling down into a smooth, slightly sweet herbal layer. The three share equal drops, so it's cool without being icy. It suits a summer bedroom when the fan keeps spinning and it still feels stuffy. In a small room, cut the peppermint to 2 drops and use 3 drops each of the other two.

How it unfolds

On opening. Peppermint (cool, sharp and clean) rises first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.

As it settles. Clary sage (sweet, herbal, slightly musky and unhurried); Roman chamomile (like ripe apple and dry hay, soft and mellow) form the body of the scent and stay longest in the room.

What remains. With no woody or resin base note, this blend fades fairly quickly — switch it on again after 1–2 hours to keep the room scented.

FAQ

How do I use too hot to sleep in a diffuser?
Add Peppermint 3 · Clary Sage 3 · Roman Chamomile 3 drops to 200–300 ml of water. In a room under 15 m², use 1–2 drops less; in a room over 25 m², add 1 more drop of the main oil.
What can I use instead of peppermint?
Swap peppermint for spearmint — same minty family. The blend will shift a little: spearmint is sweet and cool, softer than peppermint, with a hint of chewing gum.
When is the best time to use too hot to sleep?
Run the diffuser for 20–30 minutes before bed with the door closed, then switch it off or set a timer when you get into bed.
