tent on a hilltop

4 oils · Herbal · Woody · code BL-1011

A camping night, a tent on a hill, cold wind and a sky full of stars. Three drops of cedarwood open with dry wood like firewood, patchouli and tea tree add damp earth and a clean green streak, and a single drop of sandalwood lays a smooth base. Lovely for the bedroom at night when you're missing that trip. Tip: turn off the lights, switch on a warm night lamp, and play a wind-sounds playlist.

How it unfolds

On opening. Tea tree (green, medicinal and clean) rises first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.

What remains. Cedarwood (dry and warm, like a wooden chest and pencil shavings); patchouli (like damp earth and dark wood, deeply sweet); sandalwood (creamy, smooth and long-lasting) sink in and linger after the diffuser is off.

Method

Diffuser
Cedarwood 3 · Patchouli 2 · Tea Tree 2 · Sandalwood 1 drops in 200–300 ml of water. Run for 30–60 minutes, then take a break.
10 ml roller
Cedarwood 2 · Patchouli 1 · Tea Tree 1 · Sandalwood 1 drops, then top up with a carrier oil (jojoba or sweet almond). Dab on wrists and the back of the neck.
50 ml room spray
Cedarwood 11 · Patchouli 8 · Tea Tree 8 · Sandalwood 4 drops + 1 teaspoon of food-grade alcohol, then top up with distilled water. Shake before spraying.

FAQ

How do I use tent on a hilltop in a diffuser?
Add Cedarwood 3 · Patchouli 2 · Tea Tree 2 · Sandalwood 1 drops to 200–300 ml of water. In a room under 15 m², use 1–2 drops less; in a room over 25 m², add 1 more drop of the main oil.
What can I use instead of cedarwood?
Swap cedarwood for cypress or juniper — same woody family. The blend will shift a little: cypress is fresh, dry and clean like conifer wood.
When is the best time to use tent on a hilltop?
Use it while meditating, doing yoga, journaling, or simply sitting still for 10 minutes without your phone.
