quiet but captivating

5 oils · Floral · Herbal · Woody · Resinous & sweet · code BL-1972

Five drops of warm, smooth sandalwood form the base, three drops of tea tree bring a clean, sharp note, two drops of ylang ylang add sweetness, then patchouli and frankincense, one drop each, help the scent last. Quiet but fragrant, like someone who doesn't talk much but leaves an impression. Mix the twelve drops in a roller bottle; reduce the tea tree if you prefer a softer scent.

How it unfolds

On opening. Tea tree (green, medicinal and clean) rises first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.

As it settles. Ylang ylang (rich, creamy, tropical and sweetly floral) forms the body of the scent and stays longest in the room.

What remains. Sandalwood (creamy, smooth and long-lasting); patchouli (like damp earth and dark wood, deeply sweet); frankincense (resinous with a light lemony note, deep and still) sink in and linger after the diffuser is off.

Method

Diffuser
Sandalwood 3 · Tea Tree 2 · Ylang Ylang 1 · Patchouli 1 · Frankincense 1 drops in 200–300 ml of water. Run for 30–60 minutes, then take a break.

FAQ

How do I use quiet but captivating in a diffuser?
Add Sandalwood 3 · Tea Tree 2 · Ylang Ylang 1 · Patchouli 1 · Frankincense 1 drops to 200–300 ml of water. In a room under 15 m², use 1–2 drops less; in a room over 25 m², add 1 more drop of the main oil.
What can I use instead of sandalwood?
Swap sandalwood for cedarwood or cypress — same woody family. The blend will shift a little: cedarwood is dry and warm, like a wooden chest and pencil shavings.
When is the best time to use quiet but captivating?
Diffuse it in a room, or mix a roller to dab on your wrists (diluted in a carrier oil).
