monk-level chill

4 oils · Citrus · Woody · code BL-0846

Four oils at three drops each, and every note has its own voice. Patchouli brings damp earth, sandalwood is smooth as cream, cedarwood is dry wood, and sweet orange adds a cheerful freshness so the whole thing never gets heavy. Chill in the way of a meditation master: still but approachable. Perfect for the living room on a weekend afternoon; for a lighter version, cut patchouli to two drops.

How it unfolds

On opening. Sweet orange (ripe, sweet, cheerful and round) rises first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.

What remains. Patchouli (like damp earth and dark wood, deeply sweet); sandalwood (creamy, smooth and long-lasting); cedarwood (dry and warm, like a wooden chest and pencil shavings) sink in and linger after the diffuser is off.

Method

Diffuser
Patchouli 2 · Sandalwood 2 · Sweet Orange 2 · Cedarwood 2 drops in 200–300 ml of water. Run for 30–60 minutes, then take a break.
10 ml roller
Patchouli 1 · Sandalwood 1 · Sweet Orange 1 · Cedarwood 1 drops, then top up with a carrier oil (jojoba or sweet almond). Dab on wrists and the back of the neck.
50 ml room spray
Patchouli 8 · Sandalwood 8 · Sweet Orange 8 · Cedarwood 8 drops + 1 teaspoon of food-grade alcohol, then top up with distilled water. Shake before spraying.

FAQ

How do I use monk-level chill in a diffuser?
Add Patchouli 2 · Sandalwood 2 · Sweet Orange 2 · Cedarwood 2 drops to 200–300 ml of water. In a room under 15 m², use 1–2 drops less; in a room over 25 m², add 1 more drop of the main oil.
What can I use instead of patchouli?
Swap patchouli for cypress or juniper — same woody family. The blend will shift a little: cypress is fresh, dry and clean like conifer wood.
When is the best time to use monk-level chill?
Use it while meditating, doing yoga, journaling, or simply sitting still for 10 minutes without your phone.
