Blend recipes · Cozy & warm

late autumn in Hanoi

4 oils · Citrus · Woody · Resinous & sweet · code BL-2695

There is no milk flower in the recipe, but the feeling is pure late-autumn Hanoi, when the milkwood trees bloom along the streets. Cedarwood opens with warm, dry wood, frankincense and sweet orange split the back half, deep resin meeting fresh sweet orange, and patchouli lays a damp-earth base. Good for the living room on cool, breezy autumn evenings. Switch it on when you get home from work; for a sweeter version, add 1 drop of sweet orange.

How it unfolds

On opening. Sweet orange (ripe, sweet, cheerful and round) rises first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.

What remains. Cedarwood (dry and warm, like a wooden chest and pencil shavings); frankincense (resinous with a light lemony note, deep and still); patchouli (like damp earth and dark wood, deeply sweet) sink in and linger after the diffuser is off.

Method

Diffuser

FAQ

How do I use late autumn in Hanoi in a diffuser?
Add Cedarwood 3 · Frankincense 2 · Sweet Orange 2 · Patchouli 1 drops to 200–300 ml of water. In a room under 15 m², use 1–2 drops less; in a room over 25 m², add 1 more drop of the main oil.
What can I use instead of cedarwood?
Swap cedarwood for sandalwood or cypress — same woody family. The blend will shift a little: sandalwood is creamy, smooth and long-lasting.
When is the best time to use late autumn in Hanoi?
Made for chilly days, cold rain, Tet (the Lunar New Year) and Christmas; use it in the living room or bedroom.
