Blend recipes · Cozy & warm

shivering home from the rain

5 oils · Citrus · Floral · Herbal · Minty · code BL-2732

Lavender makes up most of it, so the scent opens soft and soothing; peppermint and Roman chamomile sit equally, cool tingle meeting sweet apple; tea tree and lemon add a clean brightness. Made for evenings when you come home from the rain chilled to the bone after a long day on your feet. Mix 3–4 drops of the blend with a spoonful of salt or carrier oil before adding it to a basin of warm water, since essential oils do not dissolve in water.

How it unfolds

On opening. Peppermint (cool, sharp and clean); tea tree (green, medicinal and clean); lemon (fresh, bright and clean) rise first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.

As it settles. Lavender (floral-herbal, clean and soothing); Roman chamomile (like ripe apple and dry hay, soft and mellow) form the body of the scent and stay longest in the room.

What remains. With no woody or resin base note, this blend fades fairly quickly — switch it on again after 1–2 hours to keep the room scented.

Safety

Photosensitizing

Lemon can make skin sensitive to sunlight when applied topically — avoid sun and tanning beds for 12 hours after applying.

Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.

FAQ

How do I use shivering home from the rain in a diffuser?
Add Lavender 3 · Peppermint 2 · Roman Chamomile 2 · Tea Tree 1 · Lemon 1 drops to 200–300 ml of water. In a room under 15 m², use 1–2 drops less; in a room over 25 m², add 1 more drop of the main oil.
What can I use instead of lavender?
Swap lavender for geranium or ylang ylang — same floral family. The blend will shift a little: geranium is green and rosy, fresh and balanced.
When is the best time to use shivering home from the rain?
Made for chilly days, cold rain, Tet (the Lunar New Year) and Christmas; use it in the living room or bedroom.
