settle down a smidge

4 oils · Floral · Woody · Resinous & sweet · code BL-0886

You only need to settle down a little, not for a whole hour. Frankincense and sandalwood lead with resin and warm wood, cedarwood adds a dry wood base, and one drop of lavender makes the scent noticeably softer. Right for the break between two meetings or after work. Tip: add it to the diffuser and set a fifteen-minute timer, enough to rest without getting too lazy.

How it unfolds

As it settles. Lavender (floral-herbal, clean and soothing) forms the body of the scent and stays longest in the room.

What remains. Frankincense (resinous with a light lemony note, deep and still); sandalwood (creamy, smooth and long-lasting); cedarwood (dry and warm, like a wooden chest and pencil shavings) sink in and linger after the diffuser is off.

Method

Diffuser
Frankincense 3 · Sandalwood 2 · Cedarwood 2 · Lavender 1 drops in 200–300 ml of water. Run for 30–60 minutes, then take a break.
10 ml roller
Frankincense 2 · Sandalwood 2 · Cedarwood 1 · Lavender 1 drops, then top up with a carrier oil (jojoba or sweet almond). Dab on wrists and the back of the neck.
50 ml room spray
Frankincense 12 · Sandalwood 9 · Cedarwood 7 · Lavender 2 drops + 1 teaspoon of food-grade alcohol, then top up with distilled water. Shake before spraying.

FAQ

How do I use settle down a smidge in a diffuser?
Add Frankincense 3 · Sandalwood 2 · Cedarwood 2 · Lavender 1 drops to 200–300 ml of water. In a room under 15 m², use 1–2 drops less; in a room over 25 m², add 1 more drop of the main oil.
What can I use instead of frankincense?
Swap frankincense for vanilla or myrrh — same resinous & sweet family. The blend will shift a little: vanilla is creamy, sweet and cozy.
When is the best time to use settle down a smidge?
Use it while meditating, doing yoga, journaling, or simply sitting still for 10 minutes without your phone.
