Overthinking is taking a break; your brain needs sleep too. Eight drops of bergamot open with bright, slightly tea-like peel, patchouli lines it with warm damp earth, ylang-ylang adds sweet yellow flowers, and juniper sprinkles in a berry-like conifer note. Good for the bedroom before sleep. Write all your worries down on paper, fold it up, then turn on the diffuser and switch off the light.

On opening. Bergamot (light citrus with a floral edge, Earl Grey style) rises first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.
As it settles. Ylang ylang (rich, creamy, tropical and sweetly floral); juniper (green and berry-like, with clean resinous wood) form the body of the scent and stay longest in the room.
What remains. Patchouli (like damp earth and dark wood, deeply sweet) sinks in and lingers after the diffuser is off.
Bergamot can make skin sensitive to sunlight when applied topically — avoid sun and tanning beds for 12 hours after applying.
Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.
