midweek breather

5 oils · Citrus · Floral · Resinous & sweet · code BL-0233

Wednesday: half the week gone, the other half still ahead. Lavender opens gently, bergamot and frankincense share the middle, fresh meeting warm resin, while geranium and ylang-ylang, one drop each, add green and yellow flowers. The scent is light and smooth, perfect for the bedroom on a weeknight. Turn on the diffuser, take a warm shower, and go to bed half an hour earlier than usual.

How it unfolds

On opening. Bergamot (light citrus with a floral edge, Earl Grey style) rises first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.

As it settles. Lavender (floral-herbal, clean and soothing); geranium (green and rosy, fresh and balanced); ylang ylang (rich, creamy, tropical and sweetly floral) form the body of the scent and stay longest in the room.

What remains. Frankincense (resinous with a light lemony note, deep and still) sinks in and lingers after the diffuser is off.

Safety

Photosensitizing

Bergamot can make skin sensitive to sunlight when applied topically — avoid sun and tanning beds for 12 hours after applying.

Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.

FAQ

How do I use midweek breather in a diffuser?
Add Lavender 3 · Bergamot 2 · Frankincense 2 · Geranium 1 · Ylang Ylang 1 drops to 200–300 ml of water. In a room under 15 m², use 1–2 drops less; in a room over 25 m², add 1 more drop of the main oil.
What can I use instead of lavender?
Swap lavender for Roman chamomile or rose — same floral family. The blend will shift a little: Roman chamomile is like ripe apple and dry hay, soft and mellow.
When is the best time to use midweek breather?
Use it at the end of the day, on weekends, while reading or right after a shower — whenever you want everything to slow down a beat.
