legs asleep, mind awake

4 oils · Woody · Resinous & sweet · code BL-0910

You've meditated so long your legs are numb, but your head feels light. Three drops of myrrh lead with a dry, deep wood base, frankincense and cedarwood add warm resin and dry wood, and a drop of cypress opens a cool gap. Lovely for a morning meditation corner on your usual cushion. Tip: stand up, stretch your legs, and take a deep breath near the diffuser before getting back to things.

How it unfolds

As it settles. Cypress (fresh, dry and clean like conifer wood) forms the body of the scent and stays longest in the room.

What remains. Myrrh (bittersweet, resinous, deep and classic); frankincense (resinous with a light lemony note, deep and still); cedarwood (dry and warm, like a wooden chest and pencil shavings) sink in and linger after the diffuser is off.

Method

Diffuser
Myrrh 3 · Frankincense 2 · Cedarwood 2 · Cypress 1 drops in 200–300 ml of water. Run for 30–60 minutes, then take a break.
10 ml roller
Myrrh 2 · Frankincense 1 · Cedarwood 1 · Cypress 1 drops, then top up with a carrier oil (jojoba or sweet almond). Dab on wrists and the back of the neck.
50 ml room spray
Myrrh 11 · Frankincense 8 · Cedarwood 8 · Cypress 4 drops + 1 teaspoon of food-grade alcohol, then top up with distilled water. Shake before spraying.

FAQ

How do I use legs asleep, mind awake in a diffuser?
Add Myrrh 3 · Frankincense 2 · Cedarwood 2 · Cypress 1 drops to 200–300 ml of water. In a room under 15 m², use 1–2 drops less; in a room over 25 m², add 1 more drop of the main oil.
What can I use instead of myrrh?
Swap myrrh for vanilla or coffee — same resinous & sweet family. The blend will shift a little: vanilla is creamy, sweet and cozy.
When is the best time to use legs asleep, mind awake?
Use it while meditating, doing yoga, journaling, or simply sitting still for 10 minutes without your phone.
