Blend recipes · Energy & alertness
You can smell great even when you're lazy: just four oils, two drops each. Peppermint and lemon pop up first, clean and bright; sweet orange backs them up so it's less sour, and rosemary settles in with a warm, dry herbal note. Suits a small apartment when you've just dragged yourself out of bed and are still zoning out at the table. For a softer take on sluggish mornings, cut the peppermint to 1 drop.

On opening. Peppermint (cool, sharp and clean); lemon (fresh, bright and clean); sweet orange (ripe, sweet, cheerful and round); rosemary (cool, green, herbal and invigorating) rise first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.
What remains. With no woody or resin base note, this blend fades fairly quickly — switch it on again after 1–2 hours to keep the room scented.
Lemon can make skin sensitive to sunlight when applied topically — avoid sun and tanning beds for 12 hours after applying.
Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.
