old movie glow

4 oils · Citrus · Floral · Woody · code BL-2827

Cedarwood and patchouli sit equally, dry wood meeting damp earth like the set of a classic film; sweet orange and ylang-ylang follow, fresh and sweetly floral. Good for the living room on evenings watching black-and-white movies under warm lamps. Start the diffuser before the film begins; ylang-ylang is intense, so small rooms need only 1 drop.

How it unfolds

On opening. Sweet orange (ripe, sweet, cheerful and round) rises first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.

As it settles. Ylang ylang (rich, creamy, tropical and sweetly floral) forms the body of the scent and stays longest in the room.

What remains. Cedarwood (dry and warm, like a wooden chest and pencil shavings); patchouli (like damp earth and dark wood, deeply sweet) sink in and linger after the diffuser is off.

Method

FAQ

How do I use old movie glow in a diffuser?
Add Cedarwood 3 · Patchouli 3 · Sweet Orange 2 · Ylang Ylang 2 drops to 200–300 ml of water. In a room under 15 m², use 1–2 drops less; in a room over 25 m², add 1 more drop of the main oil.
What can I use instead of cedarwood?
Swap cedarwood for sandalwood or cypress — same woody family. The blend will shift a little: sandalwood is creamy, smooth and long-lasting.
When is the best time to use old movie glow?
Made for chilly days, cold rain, Tet (the Lunar New Year) and Christmas; use it in the living room or bedroom.
