Blend recipes · Sleep

in bed 11pm, asleep 1am

3 oils · Floral · Woody · code BL-0041

The two hours between lying down and actually falling asleep usually go to your phone, and this blend wants them back. Lavender opens familiar and clean, blue chamomile adds a deep herbal note with a hay-like edge, and cedarwood closes with warm wood. Start the diffuser right as you get into bed and keep your phone out of reach. Blue chamomile is fairly intense, so first-timers can use 1 drop.

How it unfolds

As it settles. Lavender (floral-herbal, clean and soothing); blue chamomile (deeply herbal, bittersweet and a little smoky) form the body of the scent and stay longest in the room.

What remains. Cedarwood (dry and warm, like a wooden chest and pencil shavings) sinks in and lingers after the diffuser is off.

Method

Diffuser
Lavender 3 · Blue Chamomile 2 · Cedarwood 1 drops in 200–300 ml of water. Run for 30–60 minutes, then take a break.
10 ml roller
Lavender 2 · Blue Chamomile 2 · Cedarwood 1 drops, then top up with a carrier oil (jojoba or sweet almond). Dab on wrists and the back of the neck.
50 ml room spray
Lavender 15 · Blue Chamomile 10 · Cedarwood 5 drops + 1 teaspoon of food-grade alcohol, then top up with distilled water. Shake before spraying.

FAQ

How do I use in bed 11pm, asleep 1am in a diffuser?
Add Lavender 3 · Blue Chamomile 2 · Cedarwood 1 drops to 200–300 ml of water. In a room under 15 m², use 1–2 drops less; in a room over 25 m², add 1 more drop of the main oil.
What can I use instead of lavender?
Swap lavender for geranium or ylang ylang — same floral family. The blend will shift a little: geranium is green and rosy, fresh and balanced.
When is the best time to use in bed 11pm, asleep 1am?
Run the diffuser for 20–30 minutes before bed with the door closed, then switch it off or set a timer when you get into bed.
