hard work beats talent

4 oils · Citrus · Herbal · Minty · Woody · code BL-1057

Hard work makes up for talent, and a little scent adds some extra motivation. Three drops of cypress open with cool needles, rosemary and peppermint add green herbs and a cold streak, and a single drop of sweet orange makes the scent more cheerful. Great for weekend tutoring sessions or extra study time. If you study at night, cut peppermint to one drop.

How it unfolds

On opening. Rosemary (cool, green, herbal and invigorating); peppermint (cool, sharp and clean); sweet orange (ripe, sweet, cheerful and round) rise first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.

As it settles. Cypress (fresh, dry and clean like conifer wood) forms the body of the scent and stays longest in the room.

What remains. With no woody or resin base note, this blend fades fairly quickly — switch it on again after 1–2 hours to keep the room scented.

Diffuser

FAQ

How do I use hard work beats talent in a diffuser?
Add Cypress 3 · Rosemary 2 · Peppermint 2 · Sweet Orange 1 drops to 200–300 ml of water. In a room under 15 m², use 1–2 drops less; in a room over 25 m², add 1 more drop of the main oil.
What can I use instead of cypress?
Swap cypress for cedarwood or sandalwood — same woody family. The blend will shift a little: cedarwood is dry and warm, like a wooden chest and pencil shavings.
When is the best time to use hard work beats talent?
Run it at your desk or study corner in cycles of 30 minutes on, 30 minutes off, so your nose does not tune the scent out.
