grandma's curry pot

4 oils · Herbal · Warm spice · code BL-2748

Turmeric opens warm and earthy, fennel follows with a slightly sweet spice, and star anise and coriander sit equally, sweet-spicy and toasty. It smells just like the pot of curry grandma made on cold days. Good for the kitchen and dining room. Start the diffuser before dinner with the window cracked; it is quite intense, so small rooms need only half the recipe.

How it unfolds

As it settles. Turmeric (warm and earthy with a little spice); fennel (sweet and herbal with a little anise); star anise (sweet and warm, reminiscent of pho broth and Tet sweets); coriander (warm and seedy, lightly sweet, with a whisper of spice) form the body of the scent and stay longest in the room.

What remains. With no woody or resin base note, this blend fades fairly quickly — switch it on again after 1–2 hours to keep the room scented.

Method

Diffuser

FAQ

How do I use grandma's curry pot in a diffuser?
Add Turmeric 3 · Fennel 2 · Star Anise 1 · Coriander 1 drops to 200–300 ml of water. In a room under 15 m², use 1–2 drops less; in a room over 25 m², add 1 more drop of the main oil.
What can I use instead of turmeric?
Swap turmeric for cinnamon or pink pepper — same warm spice family. The blend will shift a little: cinnamon is spicy-sweet, hot and warm.
When is the best time to use grandma's curry pot?
Made for chilly days, cold rain, Tet (the Lunar New Year) and Christmas; use it in the living room or bedroom.
