winter's here, duvet time

4 oils · Citrus · Woody · Warm spice · Tea · code BL-3077

Malty black tea, sweet orange, a waft of star anise and warm earthy root at the end.

Winter is here, time to hide under the covers: malty black tea, cheerful sweet orange, a light waft of star anise, and smilax leaving a warm, earthy root note at the end. Great for the bedroom, the sofa in the evening or a movie corner. Switch it on about 15 minutes before you crawl under the covers; if you are sensitive to anise, use only half the amount.

How it unfolds

On opening. Sweet orange (ripe, sweet, cheerful and round) rises first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.

As it settles. Black tea (steeped, warm and slightly malty); star anise (sweet and warm, reminiscent of pho broth and Tet sweets) form the body of the scent and stay longest in the room.

What remains. Smilax (warm, earthy and rooty, lightly sweet and rustic) sinks in and lingers after the diffuser is off.
