Blend recipes · Energy & alertness
Friday afternoon: your body is at your desk, but your mind has already gone home. Three drops of lavender lay a soft base, sweet orange and bergamot, two drops each, add a cheerful citrus layer, and a single drop of peppermint is just enough to pull you through the last few tasks of the week. Great for the office from about three in the afternoon. When you're done, switch off the diffuser as the signal that the weekend has begun.

On opening. Sweet orange (ripe, sweet, cheerful and round); bergamot (light citrus with a floral edge, Earl Grey style); peppermint (cool, sharp and clean) rise first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.
As it settles. Lavender (floral-herbal, clean and soothing) forms the body of the scent and stays longest in the room.
What remains. With no woody or resin base note, this blend fades fairly quickly — switch it on again after 1–2 hours to keep the room scented.
Bergamot can make skin sensitive to sunlight when applied topically — avoid sun and tanning beds for 12 hours after applying.
Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.
