cool down that hot head

4 oils · Citrus · Floral · Herbal · Warm spice · code BL-0655

A hot head needs cooling down slowly. Coriander is the unusual twist in this blend: sweet spice with a hint of lemon, very fresh; bergamot and clary sage stand beside it with tangy citrus and soft herb, and neroli lays an elegant layer of white flowers at the end. Good for your desk after a heated debate. Splash your face with cold water, and by the time you're back at your desk, the scent has spread.

How it unfolds

On opening. Bergamot (light citrus with a floral edge, Earl Grey style) rises first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.

As it settles. Coriander (warm and seedy, lightly sweet, with a whisper of spice); clary sage (sweet, herbal, slightly musky and unhurried); neroli (white-floral, honeyed and clear) form the body of the scent and stay longest in the room.

What remains. With no woody or resin base note, this blend fades fairly quickly — switch it on again after 1–2 hours to keep the room scented.

Bergamot can make skin sensitive to sunlight when applied topically — avoid sun and tanning beds for 12 hours after applying.

Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.

FAQ

How do I use cool down that hot head in a diffuser?
Add Bergamot 2 · Coriander 2 · Clary Sage 2 · Neroli 1 drops to 200–300 ml of water. In a room under 15 m², use 1–2 drops less; in a room over 25 m², add 1 more drop of the main oil.
What can I use instead of bergamot?
Swap bergamot for lemon or sweet orange — same citrus family. The blend will shift a little: lemon is fresh, bright and clean.
When is the best time to use cool down that hot head?
Turn it on when your head feels tight: before a meeting, after a long day, or when you need a few minutes to settle.
