Blend recipes · Cozy & warm

cold outside, warm inside

3 oils · Minty · Woody · Resinous & sweet · code BL-2719

Sounds contradictory, but one sniff and it makes sense. Cedarwood and frankincense split it evenly, dry wood meeting deep resin, building a thick warm layer; peppermint slips in with a chill like your breath on a winter day. Good for the home office or living room on cold mornings when you need to stay alert. Mix a bottle ahead and take 5 drops each time; for a fully warm version, halve the peppermint.

How it unfolds

On opening. Peppermint (cool, sharp and clean) rises first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.

What remains. Cedarwood (dry and warm, like a wooden chest and pencil shavings); frankincense (resinous with a light lemony note, deep and still) sink in and linger after the diffuser is off.

Method

Diffuser
Cedarwood 3 · Frankincense 3 · Peppermint 2 drops in 200–300 ml of water. Run for 30–60 minutes, then take a break.
10 ml roller
Cedarwood 2 · Frankincense 2 · Peppermint 1 drops, then top up with a carrier oil (jojoba or sweet almond). Dab on wrists and the back of the neck.
50 ml room spray
Cedarwood 11 · Frankincense 11 · Peppermint 8 drops + 1 teaspoon of food-grade alcohol, then top up with distilled water. Shake before spraying.

FAQ

How do I use cold outside, warm inside in a diffuser?
Add Cedarwood 3 · Frankincense 3 · Peppermint 2 drops to 200–300 ml of water. In a room under 15 m², use 1–2 drops less; in a room over 25 m², add 1 more drop of the main oil.
What can I use instead of cedarwood?
Swap cedarwood for sandalwood or patchouli — same woody family. The blend will shift a little: sandalwood is creamy, smooth and long-lasting.
When is the best time to use cold outside, warm inside?
Made for chilly days, cold rain, Tet (the Lunar New Year) and Christmas; use it in the living room or bedroom.
