Blend recipes · Easy breathing

caught in the first rain

5 oils · Citrus · Herbal · Minty · Resinous & sweet · code BL-2046

Caught in the first rain of the season, you just want the room to smell clean right away: peppermint and lemon at five drops each, cool and fresh, and tea tree adds a sharp, clean note. Eucalyptus and frankincense, two drops each, make the scent round and warm, cozy for curling up under a blanket listening to the rain. Seventeen drops is a lot, so halve it for a small room; take a warm shower and change into dry clothes before switching on the diffuser.

How it unfolds

On opening. Peppermint (cool, sharp and clean); lemon (fresh, bright and clean); tea tree (green, medicinal and clean); eucalyptus (strong, cool and wide open) rise first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.

What remains. Frankincense (resinous with a light lemony note, deep and still) sinks in and lingers after the diffuser is off.

Safety

Photosensitizing

Lemon can make skin sensitive to sunlight when applied topically — avoid sun and tanning beds for 12 hours after applying.

Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.

FAQ

How do I use caught in the first rain in a diffuser?
Add Peppermint 2 · Lemon 2 · Tea Tree 1 · Eucalyptus 1 · Frankincense 1 drops to 200–300 ml of water. In a room under 15 m², use 1–2 drops less; in a room over 25 m², add 1 more drop of the main oil.
What can I use instead of peppermint?
Swap peppermint for spearmint — same minty family. The blend will shift a little: spearmint is sweet and cool, softer than peppermint, with a hint of chewing gum.
When is the best time to use caught in the first rain?
Use it in closed rooms, on humid days, in monsoon season or after long hours of air conditioning — diffuse in short 20–30 minute runs.
