Charcoal smoke, grilled meat and mosquitoes lurking under the chairs. Citronella and lemongrass handle the top with fresh, bold grass, while lavender and cedarwood split the back half, soft florals and dry wood. Strong enough not to get buried by the smoke. Place the diffuser upwind of the smoke, a few meters from the grill, and turn it on as you light the charcoal.

On opening. Citronella (strong, green and slightly lemony); lemongrass (fresh, green and clean) rise first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.
As it settles. Lavender (floral-herbal, clean and soothing) forms the body of the scent and stays longest in the room.
What remains. Cedarwood (dry and warm, like a wooden chest and pencil shavings) sinks in and lingers after the diffuser is off.
Lemongrass can irritate skin — dilute well and patch-test on a small area first.
Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.
