Blend recipes · Energy & alertness
Studying through the night calls for a scent that keeps you alert without giving you a headache. Rosemary and cypress split it evenly at two drops each: green herbs and resinous conifer, like studying in a wooden cabin in the middle of a forest. A single drop of lemon keeps things from getting too heavy. A dorm room or your own desk works fine. Tip: turn off the diffuser when you go to sleep, even if it's just a quick two-hour nap.

On opening. Rosemary (cool, green, herbal and invigorating); lemon (fresh, bright and clean) rise first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.
As it settles. Cypress (fresh, dry and clean like conifer wood) forms the body of the scent and stays longest in the room.
What remains. With no woody or resin base note, this blend fades fairly quickly — switch it on again after 1–2 hours to keep the room scented.
Lemon can make skin sensitive to sunlight when applied topically — avoid sun and tanning beds for 12 hours after applying.
Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.
