a bit of a wanderer

4 oils · Citrus · Floral · Woody · Resinous & sweet · code BL-1886

Earthy, warm patchouli opens, bergamot and myrrh split the middle evenly, one fresh like the wind, the other rooty like a country road, and jasmine adds a little sweetness at the end. A free-spirited, slightly rugged scent for someone who loves grabbing a backpack and going places. Premix the 31-drop batch; use it in a roller bottle or put 5 drops in the diffuser.

How it unfolds

On opening. Bergamot (light citrus with a floral edge, Earl Grey style) rises first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.

As it settles. Jasmine (white-floral, sweet, heady and alluring) forms the body of the scent and stays longest in the room.

What remains. Patchouli (like damp earth and dark wood, deeply sweet); myrrh (bittersweet, resinous, deep and classic) sink in and linger after the diffuser is off.

Method

Safety

Photosensitizing

Bergamot can make skin sensitive to sunlight when applied topically — avoid sun and tanning beds for 12 hours after applying.

Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.

FAQ

How do I use a bit of a wanderer in a diffuser?
Add Patchouli 3 · Bergamot 2 · Myrrh 2 · Jasmine 1 drops to 200–300 ml of water. In a room under 15 m², use 1–2 drops less; in a room over 25 m², add 1 more drop of the main oil.
What can I use instead of patchouli?
Swap patchouli for cedarwood or sandalwood — same woody family. The blend will shift a little: cedarwood is dry and warm, like a wooden chest and pencil shavings.
When is the best time to use a bit of a wanderer?
Diffuse it in a room, or mix a roller to dab on your wrists (diluted in a carrier oil).
