Bergamot opens fresh with a hint of tea, vanilla follows right away to warm things up fast, then ylang ylang and sandalwood settle into a sweet woody base. Perfect for getting ready for a date when picking an outfit took a bit too long; a little late, but smelling great. Fourteen drops is the amount for a large living room; in a small bedroom, halve the recipe so it's easy on the nose.

On opening. Bergamot (light citrus with a floral edge, Earl Grey style) rises first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.
As it settles. Ylang ylang (rich, creamy, tropical and sweetly floral) forms the body of the scent and stays longest in the room.
What remains. Vanilla (creamy, sweet and cozy); sandalwood (creamy, smooth and long-lasting) sink in and linger after the diffuser is off.
Bergamot can make skin sensitive to sunlight when applied topically — avoid sun and tanning beds for 12 hours after applying.
Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.
