At twelve degrees, getting out from under the blanket is a battle. Frankincense opens with warm resin; cinnamon, lemon and thyme split the middle evenly, warm spice, bright tartness and herbs; eucalyptus closes cool and airy. Good for the living room or kitchen on bitterly cold mornings. Once the kettle has boiled for tea, start the diffuser; for more warmth, use less eucalyptus.

On opening. Lemon (fresh, bright and clean); eucalyptus (strong, cool and wide open) rise first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.
As it settles. Cinnamon (spicy-sweet, hot and warm); thyme (warm, dry and herbal with a touch of spice) form the body of the scent and stay longest in the room.
What remains. Frankincense (resinous with a light lemony note, deep and still) sinks in and lingers after the diffuser is off.
Lemon can make skin sensitive to sunlight when applied topically — avoid sun and tanning beds for 12 hours after applying.
Cinnamon and Thyme can irritate skin — dilute well and patch-test on a small area first.
Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.
