Pimento leaf

Eugenol can reach 95 percent. Much higher than pimento berry. Phenol concentration strongly irritates skin and mucous membranes.

Methyl eugenol also higher than in berry oil.

Very low dermal concentration recommended.

Not recommended in pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Distilled leaves of Pimenta dioica yield an oil with higher eugenol than berry oil. A secondary product.

Family Myrtaceae.

Used in fragrance for strong clove-like notes.
