Oxidation products of α-pinene may sensitize skin.

Store in dark, sealed, refrigerated container. Add an antioxidant.

Grindelia oil also tends to polymerize, does not keep well.

β-Myrcene is reproductively toxic in pregnant rats at 500 mg per kg, not at 250 mg per kg. No specific dose limit.

Grindelia oregana is a North American herb, particularly common in the western US. Small yellow flowers with a characteristic gummy texture.

The oil is steam-distilled from the aerial parts. Produced in Bulgaria, limited availability.
