Blend recipes · Cozy & warm

too cold to go to work

3 oils · Citrus · Woody · Resinous & sweet · code BL-2762

Vanilla opens creamy-sweet, while patchouli and bergamot follow equally, warm earth meeting elegant citrus, keeping it sweet but never cloying. Good for the bedroom or sofa corner on days so cold you just want to call in and stay home. Start the diffuser as you make a mug of cocoa; for a lighter version, cut patchouli to 2 drops.

How it unfolds

On opening. Bergamot (light citrus with a floral edge, Earl Grey style) rises first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.

What remains. Vanilla (creamy, sweet and cozy); patchouli (like damp earth and dark wood, deeply sweet) sink in and linger after the diffuser is off.

Method

Diffuser
Vanilla 4 · Patchouli 2 · Bergamot 2 drops in 200–300 ml of water. Run for 30–60 minutes, then take a break.
10 ml roller
Vanilla 2 · Patchouli 1 · Bergamot 1 drops, then top up with a carrier oil (jojoba or sweet almond). Dab on wrists and the back of the neck.
50 ml room spray
Vanilla 14 · Patchouli 8 · Bergamot 8 drops + 1 teaspoon of food-grade alcohol, then top up with distilled water. Shake before spraying.

FAQ

How do I use too cold to go to work in a diffuser?
Add Vanilla 4 · Patchouli 2 · Bergamot 2 drops to 200–300 ml of water. In a room under 15 m², use 1–2 drops less; in a room over 25 m², add 1 more drop of the main oil.
What can I use instead of vanilla?
Swap vanilla for frankincense or myrrh — same resinous & sweet family. The blend will shift a little: frankincense is resinous with a light lemony note, deep and still.
When is the best time to use too cold to go to work?
Made for chilly days, cold rain, Tet (the Lunar New Year) and Christmas; use it in the living room or bedroom.
