crunching dry leaves

4 oils · Citrus · Woody · code BL-2820

Lemon opens bright and tart, pine follows with cool resin, and bergamot and patchouli, a drop each, bring elegant citrus and damp earth like dry leaves underfoot. Good for the living room or porch on late-autumn afternoons. Start the diffuser as you open the door to the breeze; for a deeper scent, add 1 drop of patchouli.

How it unfolds

On opening. Lemon (fresh, bright and clean); bergamot (light citrus with a floral edge, Earl Grey style) rise first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.

As it settles. Pine (green and resinous, like a forest walk) forms the body of the scent and stays longest in the room.

What remains. Patchouli (like damp earth and dark wood, deeply sweet) sinks in and lingers after the diffuser is off.

Method

Diffuser
Lemon 3 · Pine 2 · Bergamot 1 · Patchouli 1 drops in 200–300 ml of water. Run for 30–60 minutes, then take a break.

Lemon 2 · Pine 1 · Bergamot 1 · Patchouli 1 drops, then top up with a carrier oil (jojoba or sweet almond). Dab on wrists and the back of the neck.
50 ml room spray
Lemon 13 · Pine 9 · Bergamot 4 · Patchouli 4 drops + 1 teaspoon of food-grade alcohol, then top up with distilled water. Shake before spraying.

FAQ

How do I use crunching dry leaves in a diffuser?
Add Lemon 3 · Pine 2 · Bergamot 1 · Patchouli 1 drops to 200–300 ml of water. In a room under 15 m², use 1–2 drops less; in a room over 25 m², add 1 more drop of the main oil.
What can I use instead of lemon?
Swap lemon for sweet orange or lemongrass — same citrus family. The blend will shift a little: sweet orange is ripe, sweet, cheerful and round.
When is the best time to use crunching dry leaves?
Made for chilly days, cold rain, Tet (the Lunar New Year) and Christmas; use it in the living room or bedroom.
