Eight drops of fennel lead with sweet anise like licorice candy, lemon and sweet orange jump in with zesty citrus peel, and eucalyptus opens up some cool, airy space. Unusual yet refreshing, it suits a long afternoon at your home office. Let the diffuser run on and off from two to five in the afternoon. If you're not into anise, cut fennel down to five drops.

On opening. Lemon (fresh, bright and clean); eucalyptus (strong, cool and wide open); sweet orange (ripe, sweet, cheerful and round) rise first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.
As it settles. Fennel (sweet and herbal with a little anise) forms the body of the scent and stays longest in the room.
What remains. With no woody or resin base note, this blend fades fairly quickly — switch it on again after 1–2 hours to keep the room scented.
Lemon can make skin sensitive to sunlight when applied topically — avoid sun and tanning beds for 12 hours after applying.
Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.
