sharp as a tack

3 oils · Herbal · Minty · Warm spice · code BL-1318

Pink pepper leads with a lightly spicy, slightly sweet scent like freshly cracked peppercorns; peppermint follows icy cool, and eucalyptus opens up the space. This blend is unusual, alert and full of personality. Great for a creative workspace or studio, anywhere you need a quick, nimble mind. Tip: if it feels too spicy, cut the pink pepper to 3 drops and add 1 drop of eucalyptus.

How it unfolds

On opening. Pink pepper (lightly spicy, sparkling and berry-like); peppermint (cool, sharp and clean); eucalyptus (strong, cool and wide open) rise first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.

What remains. With no woody or resin base note, this blend fades fairly quickly — switch it on again after 1–2 hours to keep the room scented.

Method

Diffuser
Pink Pepper 4 · Peppermint 3 · Eucalyptus 2 drops in 200–300 ml of water. Run for 30–60 minutes, then take a break.
10 ml roller
Pink Pepper 2 · Peppermint 2 · Eucalyptus 1 drops, then top up with a carrier oil (jojoba or sweet almond). Dab on wrists and the back of the neck.
50 ml room spray
Pink Pepper 13 · Peppermint 10 · Eucalyptus 7 drops + 1 teaspoon of food-grade alcohol, then top up with distilled water. Shake before spraying.

FAQ

How do I use sharp as a tack in a diffuser?
Add Pink Pepper 4 · Peppermint 3 · Eucalyptus 2 drops to 200–300 ml of water. In a room under 15 m², use 1–2 drops less; in a room over 25 m², add 1 more drop of the main oil.
What can I use instead of pink pepper?
Swap pink pepper for cinnamon or coriander — same warm spice family. The blend will shift a little: cinnamon is spicy-sweet, hot and warm.
When is the best time to use sharp as a tack?
Best in the morning, early afternoon, or right after a nap; avoid using it close to bedtime.
