sharp as a razor

4 oils · Herbal · Minty · Woody · code BL-1127

Sharp as a razor: read it once and understand, hear it once and remember. Rosemary and peppermint, three drops each, make a pair of sharp green and icy cool, while basil and cedarwood, one drop each, add sweet spice and dry wood. Great for a study desk in the morning or before an exam. In the evening, cut peppermint to two drops.

How it unfolds

On opening. Rosemary (cool, green, herbal and invigorating); peppermint (cool, sharp and clean) rise first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.

As it settles. Basil (sweet and green with a hint of anise) forms the body of the scent and stays longest in the room.

What remains. Cedarwood (dry and warm, like a wooden chest and pencil shavings) sinks in and lingers after the diffuser is off.

Method

Diffuser
Rosemary 3 · Peppermint 3 · Basil 1 · Cedarwood 1 drops in 200–300 ml of water. Run for 30–60 minutes, then take a break.
10 ml roller
Rosemary 2 · Peppermint 2 · Basil 1 · Cedarwood 1 drops, then top up with a carrier oil (jojoba or sweet almond). Dab on wrists and the back of the neck.
50 ml room spray
Rosemary 11 · Peppermint 11 · Basil 4 · Cedarwood 4 drops + 1 teaspoon of food-grade alcohol, then top up with distilled water. Shake before spraying.

FAQ

How do I use sharp as a razor in a diffuser?
Add Rosemary 3 · Peppermint 3 · Basil 1 · Cedarwood 1 drops to 200–300 ml of water. In a room under 15 m², use 1–2 drops less; in a room over 25 m², add 1 more drop of the main oil.
What can I use instead of rosemary?
Swap rosemary for eucalyptus or tea tree — same herbal family. The blend will shift a little: eucalyptus is strong, cool and wide open.
When is the best time to use sharp as a razor?
Run it at your desk or study corner in cycles of 30 minutes on, 30 minutes off, so your nose does not tune the scent out.
