screens off, early night

4 oils · Floral · Woody · code BL-3180

Soft wood, lavender and chamomile, snug as a freshly washed blanket.

Shut it down and go to bed early: soft po mu wood, sandalwood and lavender in equal parts, and a single drop of Roman chamomile, gentle as a freshly washed blanket. Great for the bedroom, especially on nights when you want to get back to a regular sleep routine. Switch on the diffuser at nine thirty, turn off the ceiling light and read a few pages of a paper book before closing your eyes.

How it unfolds

As it settles. Lavender (floral-herbal, clean and soothing); Roman chamomile (like ripe apple and dry hay, soft and mellow) form the body of the scent and stay longest in the room.

What remains. Po Mu (sweet, resinous and slightly spicy, a very grounded Vietnamese wood); sandalwood (creamy, smooth and long-lasting) sink in and linger after the diffuser is off.

Method

Diffuser
Po Mu 2 · Sandalwood 2 · Lavender 2 · Roman Chamomile 1 drops in 200–300 ml of water. Run for 30–60 minutes, then take a break.
10 ml roller
Po Mu 1 · Sandalwood 1 · Lavender 1 · Roman Chamomile 1 drops, then top up with a carrier oil (jojoba or sweet almond). Dab on wrists and the back of the neck.
50 ml room spray
Po Mu 9 · Sandalwood 9 · Lavender 9 · Roman Chamomile 4 drops + 1 teaspoon of food-grade alcohol, then top up with distilled water. Shake before spraying.

FAQ

How do I use screens off, early night in a diffuser?
Add Po Mu 2 · Sandalwood 2 · Lavender 2 · Roman Chamomile 1 drops to 200–300 ml of water. In a room under 15 m², use 1–2 drops less; in a room over 25 m², add 1 more drop of the main oil.
What can I use instead of Po Mu?
Swap Po Mu for cedarwood or patchouli — same woody family. The blend will shift a little: cedarwood is dry and warm, like a wooden chest and pencil shavings.
When is the best time to use screens off, early night?
Run the diffuser for 20–30 minutes before bed with the door closed, then switch it off or set a timer when you get into bed.
