no cooking tonight

4 oils · Citrus · Floral · Herbal · Woody · code BL-0535

No cooking tonight: order in and give the kitchen a night off. Cypress opens with clean green needles, ylang-ylang adds sweet yellow flowers, and clary sage and bergamot pad it out with sweet herb and slightly tea-like orange peel. Perfect for the living room while you wait for the delivery driver. Switch it on 15 minutes before the food arrives so the background scent settles and doesn't get lost in food smells.

How it unfolds

On opening. Bergamot (light citrus with a floral edge, Earl Grey style) rises first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.

As it settles. Cypress (fresh, dry and clean like conifer wood); ylang ylang (rich, creamy, tropical and sweetly floral); clary sage (sweet, herbal, slightly musky and unhurried) form the body of the scent and stay longest in the room.

What remains. With no woody or resin base note, this blend fades fairly quickly — switch it on again after 1–2 hours to keep the room scented.

Safety

Photosensitizing

Bergamot can make skin sensitive to sunlight when applied topically — avoid sun and tanning beds for 12 hours after applying.

Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.

FAQ

How do I use no cooking tonight in a diffuser?
Add Cypress 3 · Ylang Ylang 2 · Clary Sage 1 · Bergamot 1 drops to 200–300 ml of water. In a room under 15 m², use 1–2 drops less; in a room over 25 m², add 1 more drop of the main oil.
What can I use instead of cypress?
Swap cypress for cedarwood or sandalwood — same woody family. The blend will shift a little: cedarwood is dry and warm, like a wooden chest and pencil shavings.
When is the best time to use no cooking tonight?
Use it at the end of the day, on weekends, while reading or right after a shower — whenever you want everything to slow down a beat.
