The theory has to be memorized, one definition at a time. Four drops of rosemary lead green and sharp, thyme and clary sage, three drops each, add warm spice and soft sweetness, and two drops of lavender keep a gentle base. Great for evenings of memorizing before a test. Tip: read each passage out loud and take a deep breath before every new section.

On opening. Rosemary (cool, green, herbal and invigorating) rises first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.
As it settles. Thyme (warm, dry and herbal with a touch of spice); clary sage (sweet, herbal, slightly musky and unhurried); lavender (floral-herbal, clean and soothing) form the body of the scent and stay longest in the room.
What remains. With no woody or resin base note, this blend fades fairly quickly — switch it on again after 1–2 hours to keep the room scented.
Thyme can irritate skin — dilute well and patch-test on a small area first.
Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.
