just-mopped floors

4 oils · Citrus · Floral · Herbal · Woody · code BL-0438

The floor is still damp from mopping, the windows are wide open, and this scent is that moment in a bottle. Cedarwood and lavender lay down a base of dry wood and cool purple flowers, clary sage adds a little sweet herb, and lime shoots up a fresh, tart green citrus note. Great for a small apartment after the weekend cleanup. Add one drop of lime if you want that just-mopped feeling even stronger.

How it unfolds

On opening. Lime (zesty, gently tart and very fresh) rises first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.

As it settles. Lavender (floral-herbal, clean and soothing); clary sage (sweet, herbal, slightly musky and unhurried) form the body of the scent and stay longest in the room.

What remains. Cedarwood (dry and warm, like a wooden chest and pencil shavings) sinks in and lingers after the diffuser is off.

Safety

Photosensitizing

Lime can make skin sensitive to sunlight when applied topically — avoid sun and tanning beds for 12 hours after applying.

Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.

FAQ

How do I use just-mopped floors in a diffuser?
Add Cedarwood 3 · Lavender 3 · Clary Sage 2 · Lime 2 drops to 200–300 ml of water. In a room under 15 m², use 1–2 drops less; in a room over 25 m², add 1 more drop of the main oil.
What can I use instead of cedarwood?
Swap cedarwood for sandalwood or patchouli — same woody family. The blend will shift a little: sandalwood is creamy, smooth and long-lasting.
When is the best time to use just-mopped floors?
Use it at the end of the day, on weekends, while reading or right after a shower — whenever you want everything to slow down a beat.
