Blend recipes · Relax

in need of lying still

3 oils · Floral · Herbal · Warm spice · code BL-0352

You don't need anything, just to lie still. Coriander, lavender and holy basil share equal drops: warm, spicy sweetness, clean purple herbs and the bold, fragrant scent of holy basil leaves, like a countryside garden. The scent is rustic and unusual, evoking a porch in the countryside, perfect for the living room or bedroom in the afternoon. If you're not used to holy basil, cut it to 2 drops and raise lavender to 4.

How it unfolds

As it settles. Coriander (warm and seedy, lightly sweet, with a whisper of spice); lavender (floral-herbal, clean and soothing); holy basil (warm and spicy with a clove-like edge) form the body of the scent and stay longest in the room.

What remains. With no woody or resin base note, this blend fades fairly quickly — switch it on again after 1–2 hours to keep the room scented.

Method

Diffuser
Coriander 3 · Lavender 3 · Holy Basil 3 drops in 200–300 ml of water. Run for 30–60 minutes, then take a break.

50 ml room spray
Coriander 10 · Lavender 10 · Holy Basil 10 drops + 1 teaspoon of food-grade alcohol, then top up with distilled water. Shake before spraying.

FAQ

How do I use in need of lying still in a diffuser?
Add Coriander 3 · Lavender 3 · Holy Basil 3 drops to 200–300 ml of water. In a room under 15 m², use 1–2 drops less; in a room over 25 m², add 1 more drop of the main oil.
What can I use instead of coriander?
Swap coriander for cinnamon or pink pepper — same warm spice family. The blend will shift a little: cinnamon is spicy-sweet, hot and warm.
When is the best time to use in need of lying still?
Use it at the end of the day, on weekends, while reading or right after a shower — whenever you want everything to slow down a beat.
