Like a glass of fresh orange juice over ice: fresh sweet orange leads; bergamot, frankincense and ylang-ylang sit equally behind it, elegant, resinous and sweetly floral. Good for the living room or kitchen at noon on scorching summer days. Start the diffuser as you squeeze the oranges; for fewer florals, cut ylang-ylang to 1 drop.

On opening. Sweet orange (ripe, sweet, cheerful and round); bergamot (light citrus with a floral edge, Earl Grey style) rise first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.
As it settles. Ylang ylang (rich, creamy, tropical and sweetly floral) forms the body of the scent and stays longest in the room.
What remains. Frankincense (resinous with a light lemony note, deep and still) sinks in and lingers after the diffuser is off.
Bergamot can make skin sensitive to sunlight when applied topically — avoid sun and tanning beds for 12 hours after applying.
Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.
