Blend recipes · Summer fresh

hot but still cool

3 oils · Herbal · Minty · Woody · code BL-2925

The cool factor comes from patchouli: warm, earthy, slightly smoky, right at the front. Eucalyptus and peppermint then blow in an airy, cooling feel, making the whole thing edgy yet easy to wear on a hot day. Good for a personal office, a studio or the car. For extra chill, raise peppermint to three drops; for a deeper mood, keep patchouli as the biggest part.

How it unfolds

On opening. Eucalyptus (strong, cool and wide open); peppermint (cool, sharp and clean) rise first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.

What remains. Patchouli (like damp earth and dark wood, deeply sweet) sinks in and lingers after the diffuser is off.

Method

Diffuser
Patchouli 4 · Eucalyptus 3 · Peppermint 2 drops in 200–300 ml of water. Run for 30–60 minutes, then take a break.
10 ml roller
Patchouli 2 · Eucalyptus 2 · Peppermint 1 drops, then top up with a carrier oil (jojoba or sweet almond). Dab on wrists and the back of the neck.
50 ml room spray
Patchouli 13 · Eucalyptus 10 · Peppermint 7 drops + 1 teaspoon of food-grade alcohol, then top up with distilled water. Shake before spraying.

FAQ

How do I use hot but still cool in a diffuser?
Add Patchouli 4 · Eucalyptus 3 · Peppermint 2 drops to 200–300 ml of water. In a room under 15 m², use 1–2 drops less; in a room over 25 m², add 1 more drop of the main oil.
What can I use instead of patchouli?
Swap patchouli for cedarwood or sandalwood — same woody family. The blend will shift a little: cedarwood is dry and warm, like a wooden chest and pencil shavings.
When is the best time to use hot but still cool?
Use it at midday, in hot rooms, or after coming in from outside; you can also mix a room spray for a quick cool-down.
