The girls are meeting up for a photo session, so the room has to smell good first. Forty drops of bergamot lead elegantly, clary sage and ylang-ylang, twenty drops each, add sweet herbs and yellow flowers, and ten drops of geranium bring a touch of green rose. This premixed bottle suits a photo studio, a nail salon or the living room. Use 5 to 6 drops per diffuser session.

On opening. Bergamot (light citrus with a floral edge, Earl Grey style) rises first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.
As it settles. Clary sage (sweet, herbal, slightly musky and unhurried); ylang ylang (rich, creamy, tropical and sweetly floral); geranium (green and rosy, fresh and balanced) form the body of the scent and stay longest in the room.
What remains. With no woody or resin base note, this blend fades fairly quickly — switch it on again after 1–2 hours to keep the room scented.
Bergamot can make skin sensitive to sunlight when applied topically — avoid sun and tanning beds for 12 hours after applying.
Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.
