Heading back to your hometown for the holidays. Lime and ylang-ylang, three drops each, bring green tartness and sweet yellow flowers like the ylang-ylang tree at the end of the lane; cinnamon and sweet orange, two drops each, add warm spice and cheerful freshness. The scent feels familiar, great for the family living room. In a small room, cut the cinnamon to 1 so it isn't overpowering.

On opening. Lime (zesty, gently tart and very fresh); sweet orange (ripe, sweet, cheerful and round) rise first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.
As it settles. Ylang ylang (rich, creamy, tropical and sweetly floral); cinnamon (spicy-sweet, hot and warm) form the body of the scent and stay longest in the room.
What remains. With no woody or resin base note, this blend fades fairly quickly — switch it on again after 1–2 hours to keep the room scented.
Lime can make skin sensitive to sunlight when applied topically — avoid sun and tanning beds for 12 hours after applying.
Cinnamon can irritate skin — dilute well and patch-test on a small area first.
Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.
