Blend recipes · Easy breathing

chilly but sweet

3 oils · Herbal · Minty · Woody · code BL-2106

A little chilly, still totally sweet. Spearmint opens sweet and cool, pine gives a fresh forest feel, and eucalyptus radiata makes each breath soft and clear. Great for the bedroom on nippy days, or the little ones' room at home. Run the diffuser for 30 minutes before bed, then switch it off; for a warmer feel, add 1 drop of sweet orange.

How it unfolds

On opening. Spearmint (sweet and cool, softer than peppermint, with a hint of chewing gum); eucalyptus radiata (gently cool, softer than classic eucalyptus) rise first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.

As it settles. Pine (green and resinous, like a forest walk) forms the body of the scent and stays longest in the room.

What remains. With no woody or resin base note, this blend fades fairly quickly — switch it on again after 1–2 hours to keep the room scented.

Method

Diffuser
Spearmint 4 · Pine 3 · Eucalyptus Radiata 2 drops in 200–300 ml of water. Run for 30–60 minutes, then take a break.
10 ml roller
Spearmint 2 · Pine 2 · Eucalyptus Radiata 1 drops, then top up with a carrier oil (jojoba or sweet almond). Dab on wrists and the back of the neck.
50 ml room spray
Spearmint 13 · Pine 10 · Eucalyptus Radiata 7 drops + 1 teaspoon of food-grade alcohol, then top up with distilled water. Shake before spraying.

FAQ

How do I use chilly but sweet in a diffuser?
Add Spearmint 4 · Pine 3 · Eucalyptus Radiata 2 drops to 200–300 ml of water. In a room under 15 m², use 1–2 drops less; in a room over 25 m², add 1 more drop of the main oil.
What can I use instead of spearmint?
Swap spearmint for peppermint — same minty family. The blend will shift a little: peppermint is cool, sharp and clean.
When is the best time to use chilly but sweet?
Use it in closed rooms, on humid days, in monsoon season or after long hours of air conditioning — diffuse in short 20–30 minute runs.
