backyard at first light

4 oils · Citrus · Herbal · Woody · code BL-2983

Bergamot is bright like the first ray of sun through the fence, rosemary and juniper bring the scent of green leaves still wet with dew, and cypress closes with a light wood note. Great for a desk by the window, a balcony with plants, or while watering the garden in the morning. Switch on the diffuser as soon as you open the door, then turn it off after 20 minutes.

How it unfolds

On opening. Bergamot (light citrus with a floral edge, Earl Grey style); rosemary (cool, green, herbal and invigorating) rise first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.

As it settles. Juniper (green and berry-like, with clean resinous wood); cypress (fresh, dry and clean like conifer wood) form the body of the scent and stay longest in the room.

What remains. With no woody or resin base note, this blend fades fairly quickly — switch it on again after 1–2 hours to keep the room scented.

Safety

Photosensitizing

Bergamot can make skin sensitive to sunlight when applied topically — avoid sun and tanning beds for 12 hours after applying.

Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.

FAQ

How do I use backyard at first light in a diffuser?
Add Bergamot 4 · Rosemary 3 · Juniper 2 · Cypress 1 drops to 200–300 ml of water. In a room under 15 m², use 1–2 drops less; in a room over 25 m², add 1 more drop of the main oil.
What can I use instead of bergamot?
Swap bergamot for lemon or sweet orange — same citrus family. The blend will shift a little: lemon is fresh, bright and clean.
When is the best time to use backyard at first light?
Use it at midday, in hot rooms, or after coming in from outside; you can also mix a room spray for a quick cool-down.
