after the afternoon nap

3 oils · Floral · Herbal · Woody · code BL-1279

Waking up from a midday nap without the jolt. Lavender and pine, two drops each: one soft and purple-floral, the other dry, green resin; basil adds a little sweet spice so your head slowly boots back up. This blend is gentle but won't lull you back to sleep, great for the nap room at the office. To wake up faster, swap 1 drop of lavender for 1 drop of basil.

How it unfolds

As it settles. Lavender (floral-herbal, clean and soothing); pine (green and resinous, like a forest walk); basil (sweet and green with a hint of anise) form the body of the scent and stay longest in the room.

What remains. With no woody or resin base note, this blend fades fairly quickly — switch it on again after 1–2 hours to keep the room scented.

Method

Diffuser
Lavender 2 · Pine 2 · Basil 1 drops in 200–300 ml of water. Run for 30–60 minutes, then take a break.
10 ml roller
Lavender 2 · Pine 2 · Basil 1 drops, then top up with a carrier oil (jojoba or sweet almond). Dab on wrists and the back of the neck.
50 ml room spray
Lavender 12 · Pine 12 · Basil 6 drops + 1 teaspoon of food-grade alcohol, then top up with distilled water. Shake before spraying.

FAQ

How do I use after the afternoon nap in a diffuser?
Add Lavender 2 · Pine 2 · Basil 1 drops to 200–300 ml of water. In a room under 15 m², use 1–2 drops less; in a room over 25 m², add 1 more drop of the main oil.
What can I use instead of lavender?
Swap lavender for geranium or ylang ylang — same floral family. The blend will shift a little: geranium is green and rosy, fresh and balanced.
When is the best time to use after the afternoon nap?
Best in the morning, early afternoon, or right after a nap; avoid using it close to bedtime.
