Ravensara bark

Methyl chavicol (estragole) up to 90 percent. Estragole is a suspected carcinogen.

Very low dermal concentration recommended.

Contraindicated in pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Ravensara aromatica is native to Madagascar. The trunk bark yields an estragole-rich oil, markedly different from ravensara leaf.

Family Lauraceae.

Uncommon in cosmetics due to high estragole content.
