β-Sesquiphellandrene is a sesquiterpene common in turmeric and ginger. Direct toxicity data are limited.
Antioxidant. β-Sesquiphellandrene shows marked DPPH radical scavenging activity.
Cancer. Active against the L1210 mouse lymphocytic leukemia cell line, with cytotoxicity potentiated fivefold by ar-turmerone.
